These Terms of Service govern your use of HVZ Game, including our website, mobile app, organization pages, administrative tools, gameplay features, and related services. By using HVZ Game, you agree to these Terms.
2. What HVZ Game provides
HVZ Game provides software and content tools that help organizations promote and operate Humans vs Zombies-style events. Features may include public organization pages, player registration, missions, tags, teams, announcements, maps, scoring, powerups, reports, and moderator tools.
3. Organizations and administrators
Organizations are responsible for their events, rules, eligibility requirements, campus approvals, safety plans, waivers, supervision, staffing, communications, and compliance with school policies and applicable law. Organization administrators are responsible for managing staff access and ensuring that event content and player data are used appropriately.
4. Player responsibilities
Players agree to:
- Follow event rules, campus policies, moderator instructions, and applicable law.
- Respect safe zones, no-play zones, equipment restrictions, and conduct requirements.
- Use the app honestly and not submit false tags, scores, locations, or reports.
- Respect other participants, staff, bystanders, and property.
- Stop participating if asked by a moderator, campus official, or safety personnel.
5. Safety and assumption of risk
Humans vs Zombies and similar live games may involve physical movement, outdoor play, night events, crowds, foam equipment, and other risks. HVZ Game provides software tools; it does not control every event environment. Participants and organizations are responsible for evaluating risks, following safety rules, and using good judgment.
HVZ Game is not a substitute for emergency services, campus safety procedures, medical advice, or professional event risk management.
6. Accounts and security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account or an organization workspace has been compromised.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use HVZ Game to:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, discriminate against, or endanger others.
- Upload illegal, harmful, misleading, infringing, or abusive content.
- Interfere with the service, bypass security, scrape data, or reverse engineer protected systems.
- Misrepresent identity, role, game state, tags, location, or organization authority.
- Use player data for unrelated marketing, surveillance, discipline, or profiling without a valid legal and organizational basis.
8. Location and gameplay data
Some features may use location or gameplay data. You agree not to misuse those features to track, intimidate, or identify players outside approved game purposes. Organizations must configure location-based features in a way that is appropriate for their event, campus rules, participant consent, and applicable law.
9. Content and intellectual property
HVZ Game and its software, design, branding, and original content are owned by HVZ Game or its licensors. Organizations and users retain rights to content they submit, but grant HVZ Game a limited license to host, display, process, and transmit that content as needed to provide the services.
10. Third-party services and links
HVZ Game may integrate with third-party services such as hosting, authentication, analytics, email, maps, app stores, or organization-provided sign-up links. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their own terms and policies may apply.
11. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We try to keep HVZ Game reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
12. Disclaimers
HVZ Game is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HVZ Game will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, event cancellation, campus discipline, personal injury, or property damage arising from events operated by organizations or participants.
14. Suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe a user or organization has violated these Terms, created risk, misused data, or used HVZ Game unlawfully. Users may stop using HVZ Game at any time.
15. Governing law
These Terms will be governed by the laws of the state or jurisdiction specified in the applicable service agreement. If no separate agreement applies, these Terms are intended to be interpreted under the laws of the United States and the state where HVZ Game is principally operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service develops. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the website, app, email, or another reasonable method.
